Winter Season 2007/8

Winter Season 2007/8

Finals Night this year is to be held on Saturday the 12th April at
Rileys Pool & Snooker Club, Magdalen Street, Norwich. Matches started at 6.10pm.

Rileys Pool And Snooker Club proved the perfect venue for Finals Night once again. A super buffet was provided for the teams involved and membership to the club itself was free for all league members. The manager also donated a super pool cue and cas, for our Grand Prize Draw.

The matches themselves started just after 5.10pm with the Sinles K.O. Cup Final between Ricky Gaul and Andy Turner, Ricky eventually beating Andy 6 - 3. Next was the Divisions 2 & 3 9-Ball Final between the Silver Fox Hunter and the Maid's Miscues, the Miscues clinching the win 11 - 8. In the Div 1 9-Ball Final, the Gordon Blues took a 4-1 lead, extending it to 7-3 by the end of the second set. The Blues finally took the match with an 11-4 win. The Divs 2 & 3 8-Ball Final looked like going the same way as the Life Of Rileys pulled out a 4 - 2 lead, then taking it to 6 - 4. The next 5 frames turned the tide with the Silver Fox Hunters winning 4 out of 5 to win the match 6 - 7. The Temple Bar took a commanding 5 - 0 lead in the Div 1 8-Ball Final only to see the Boundary Boyz pull back the next 3 frames. After that it was all Temple Bar who finally took the win 8 - 3

The only thing that marred the evening was when a bottle of vodka (a prize in the raffle) was stolen. Luckily everything was captured on CCTV and the matter is being dealt with. (See the disclaimer above and Rule 12 of the League Rules.)
